Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress best recognized for her roles in films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actress and producer. She is involved in the world of film and television. She began her acting career as a theater actress and then appeared in several television series and independent and mainstream films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw, a character in ABC's Quantico. In BET's epic show The Book of Negroes she was a character. Not only did she get praise from critics for her role but was also awarded and nominations. She made her professional acting debut with the character Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. On Broadway she's appeared on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Her film work is highlighted by her appearances as a character in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her role as a regular in ABC's drama police series High Incident earned her praises.
